How to reroll at the Trait Machine, S–C trait rankings with effect stats and roll chances, shard costs, and which rolls to keep.

How traits work
Traits are stat rolls on units. Each fighter holds one trait plus one mutation.
Most traits touch damage, crit stats, range, attack speed, or cash gain. Higher tiers usually bundle several of those instead of buffing just one stat.
Tier vs rarity: S–C is our wave-performance ranking below. Rarity is the in-game roll grade on each trait row.
How to reroll traits
Traits are applied through the Trait Machine on the far-left side of the lobby, near the Sell Shop. Spend Trait Shards to reroll a unit's trait and chase stronger bonuses for damage, range, cooldown, crit hits, or farming efficiency.
- Step 1: Locate the Trait Machine
Head to the far-left side of the lobby near the Sell Shop. Hold E (or tap on mobile) to open the trait menu.
- Step 2: Select a unit
Press + and pick the fighter to roll on. Each roll replaces that unit's current trait with a new random one.
- Step 3: Spend Trait Shards
Hit the green Roll button to spend Trait Shards. Active codes — JJKUPDATE, NEWMUTATIONS, BURAH, CRAFTNERF!, and SRYFORSHUTDOWN! — are a common source of extra shards.
How to get more Trait Shards
Trait Shards drop from defeated enemies, the Spin Wheel, Battlepass tiers, and VIP chests. You can also buy bundles directly from the Trait Machine with Robux — or redeem codes that grant Trait Shards.
| Bundle | Cost |
|---|---|
| 1 Trait Shard | 9 Robux |
| 10 Trait Shards | 79 Robux |
| 25 Trait Shards | 199 Robux |
| 100 Trait Shards | 799 Robux |
Which traits should you reroll?
Not every trait is worth keeping. Common early picks with small bonuses are usually temporary — reroll them once you have spare Trait Shards:
- Far Sight I
- Far Sight II
- Battle Spirit I
- Battle Spirit II
- Quick Step I
- Quick Step II
Endgame goals bundle multiple stat bonuses at once. Hold or chase rolls like Corrupted, Celestial, Void Emperor, Soul Reaper.
Traits and mutations together
Traits and mutations are separate systems and stack on the same unit. A fighter with a strong mutation and a high-tier trait is worth far more than either upgrade alone.
Rerolls only change the trait slot — prioritize rolling on units that already carry valuable mutations such as Diamond, Dragonborn, Beast, Arrancar, Titan, or Nen.

FAQ
How many traits can a unit have?
One trait per unit, separate from its mutation. Both bonuses stack.
Can you change a trait after rolling?
Yes — spend Trait Shards at the Trait Machine to roll again on that unit. Codes like JJKUPDATE, NEWMUTATIONS, BURAH, CRAFTNERF!, and SRYFORSHUTDOWN! also grant Trait Shards.
Do I lose my trait when crafting?
Yes. Any trait on a unit submitted to the Crafting Machine is permanently lost. Roll traits on the crafted output afterward — see the units guide for craft recipes.
What is the difference between trait tier and trait rarity?
Tier (S–C) is our wave-performance ranking on this page. Rarity is the in-game roll grade on each trait row — S-tier traits are usually Mythic or Secret.
Which traits go on your main carry?
Corrupted, Celestial, Soul Reaper, or Void Emperor for raw DPS. Divine Eye and King's Fortune are strong A-tier picks if S-tier rolls are scarce.
Trait rankings reflect current wave performance. Patch changes can reshuffle the S-tier — we update after balance shifts. Trait Shards are often bundled in codes.
