Stack mutations
How to use
- 1
Pick an item
Filter by yard, category, or price range, then click a row in the item list. The full priced catalog scrolls with no display cap.
- 2
Toggle every mutation on the piece
Tap chips for each proc you see on the preview or shelf. Use stack presets for common pairs like Silver + Gold. Multipliers add — they do not multiply.
- 3
Enter your auction cost
Optional but useful mid-bid. Net profit after your auction cost is your ceiling — do not bid past it hoping for a hidden second roll.
- 4
Read shelf payout vs net
Shelf payout is what you would sell for. Net subtracts your bid. The result panel stays pinned on desktop while you scroll.
How it works
Storage Hunters applies mutation multipliers additively at the shop counter. Each proc on the same item contributes its full multiplier value to one combined stack — Silver (2×) and Gold (4×) sell at 6× total, not 8×. The calculator computes:
combined = sum of active mutation multipliers (minimum 1× if none selected) shelf payout = item base price × combined net profit = shelf payout − auction cost
Auction previews show base values only — mutations pay when a customer buys your listing. Price expected rolls before you bid; see the auction guide for when to stop raising.
| Example | Math | Base | Shelf payout |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silver + Gold | 2× + 4× = 6× | $1,000 | $6,000 |
| Scrap Dominus + Void | 35× on $565 | $565 | $19,775 |
| Gangster Dominus + Void | 35× on $15,000 | $15,000 | $525,000 |
Guessing an unknown single mutation from sell price? Use the reverse mutation calculator on the mutations page — it needs exact sell price, base max, and condition.
Picking a max bid
Run the item you expect in the preview, toggle every mutation you see, then enter what you will pay at auction. If net profit goes negative at your top offer, stop — a strong roll on cheap junk still pays little. Chase high-base items and read the auction page for when a stack still loses money at your ceiling.
FAQ
Do mutations multiply or add in the calculator?
They add. The tool sums each selected multiplier into one combined value — same rule as the shop counter. Silver (2×) plus Gold (4×) is 6×, not 8×.
Why does my bid cap differ from shelf payout?
Shelf payout is sell value before your bid. Enter auction cost to see net profit — that is your max bid, not the shelf number.
Does this include condition grading?
Uses base price × your mutation stack — a quick bid check. For condition curves or guessing one unknown roll, use the reverse tool on the mutations page.
Which items appear in the picker?
Every priced locker item in a scrollable list. Filter by name, yard, category, or min/max base price — click any row to select it.
