Mutations
Full mutation tier list: multipliers, approximate drop chances, and how they affect brainrot income.

By Bloxron Editorial Team · Last updated
In Kick a Lucky Block, the Mutation is the core mechanic that transitions players from "Average" to "Multi-Trillionaire." Mutations don't just transform the visual appearance of your Brain Rot Units; more importantly, they grant independent Value Multipliers that stack on top of a unit's base production. Rarity sets the base $/s; the mutation multiplies it — a $5/s Common with Rainbow (40x) earns $200/s.
To unlock the rarest evolutions, make sure your Luck is maxed out and you have enough Kick Power to reach the high-value drops in the later zones.
Mechanics & Rules
When designing your base or planning long-term progression, you must understand these fundamental facts:
- Non-Stackable: Each unit can only possess one mutation at the time of drop. Once a unit has a mutation, it cannot be modified or added to via post-processing.
- Unit Type Compatibility: Mutation multipliers directly amplify the $/sec of standard units. For Percentage Units (e.g., Dragons), the mutation does not change the percentage bonus (e.g., 2% remains 2%), but it drastically increases the unit's base cash value.
- Spawn on Impact: Mutations are generated the instant the Lucky Block shatters. You must successfully retrieve the unit and place it in your base for the multiplier to take effect.
- Distance Correlation: While random, the further the block lands from the starting point (i.e., entering high-tier zones), the higher the raw probability of spawning high-tier mutations.
- Multiplier Logic: The mutation multiplier acts directly on the unit's base $/sec (Cash per second).
Calculation Formula:
Total Income = Base Unit Production × Mutation Multiplier
Mutation Tier List
There are 9 regular and 11 event mutations, each with a fixed income multiplier. Update 7 reframes Astral as the #1 active meta (50x) and adds the Heavenly weather variant (3%). Update 8 adds Block Cup (38x); Update 9 adds Undead (35x) through the Zombie Apocalypse event. Zone luck governs regular rolls; Weather Machine events and server voting drive event mutations.
Update 9: Block Cup Part 2 & Undead (Jun 2026)
- Undead (35x): Zombie Apocalypse event — ~4% Undead lucky block chance during the weather window.
- Abyssal zone: New yard past Eternal Plus — five Abyssal brainrots with multi-million $/s bases; ~30B kick power gate (Big Jupiter weight helps reach it).
- Block Cup Battle Pass: Daily and weekly quests award XP toward 20 reward tiers — overlaps Phase 2 shop stock and exclusive brainrot payouts.
Full Phase 2 breakdown: Block Cup guide.
Update 8: Block Cup Event (Jun 2026)
- Block Cup (38x): Highest event mutation — rolls on six Lucky Cup block brainrots in the Block Cup Shop.
- Carnival Event: New Weather Machine option with 3% Carnival lucky block chance. Sacrifice Tralaledon + Anpali Babel + Ketupat Kepat + Espresso Shockantoni, or spend 999 Robux.
- Limited brainrots: Hat Tricky (175%) and Goat (200%) from the Block Cup Shop goals currency.
Full breakdown: Block Cup guide.
Update 7 Meta Shift (Jun 2026)
- Astral (#1): Dethrones Rainbow as the rarest and strongest class. Astral Beluga Beluga scales to 426T/s at Level 75.
- Rainbow (S-Tier): Still hyper-rare at 40x; Rainbow Trilaon baseline ~25M/s.
- Bacon (A-Tier cosmetic): Bacon Hair visual on Brainrots; Bacon Guiro Digitale ~16M/s scaled.
- Heavenly Event: New server-voted weather disaster with 3% conversion rate — see Update 7 guide.
Regular Mutations (Zone RNG)
Gold through Electrified roll from lucky-block impact in progressively deeper zones. Rainbow and Astral require extreme distance and luck — or the Eternal / Eternal Plus zones for Astral.

|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | 1.5x | 1/10 | Increases your brainrot's earning rate and sale value by 1.5x. |
| Diamond | 2x | 1/25 | Increases your brainrot's earning rate and sale value by 2x. |
| Plasma | 4x | 1/33 | Increases your brainrot's earning rate and sale value by 4x. |
| Molten | 6x | 1/125 | Increases your brainrot's earning rate and sale value by 6x. |
| Radioactive | 8x | 1/333 | Increases your brainrot's earning rate and sale value by 8x. |
| Shadow | 12x | 1/2000 | Increases your brainrot's earning rate and sale value by 12x. |
| Electrified | 16x | 1/5000 | Increases your brainrot's earning rate and sale value by 16x. |
| Rainbow | 40x | 1/20000 | S-Tier regular mutation (Update 7). Remains hyper-rare with prismatic VFX. Example: a Rainbow Trilaon delivers a clean 25M/s base cash generation. |
| Astral | 50x | Eternal / Eternal Plus Zone | God-tier #1 active meta (Update 7). Dethrones Rainbow as the rarest and strongest mutation class. Example: Astral Beluga Beluga at Level 75 cap yields 426T/s. Drops in Eternal and the new Eternal Plus zone. |
Event Mutations (Weather Machine & Special Events)
These mutations come from Weather Machine sacrifices, legacy systems, or Update 5's Volcano Event. Percentages are block-transform rates during the active weather window.
| Mutation | Multiplier | Chance / Source | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Virus | 10x | Legacy | Legacy mutation from the old Virus Machine era. Update 3 replaced that system with the Weather Machine — existing Virus units may remain, but new Virus rolls are no longer the primary path. |
| Void | 10x | — | Increases your brainrot's earning rate and sale value by 10x. |
| Enchanted | 12x | Witch Event (18%) | Weather Machine event mutation from the Witch Event. Rolled on Enchanted Lucky Blocks during the 10-minute weather window. |
| Wet | 16x | Flood Event (14% · 10% Update 6) | Weather Machine event mutation from the Flood Event. Launch rate was 14%; Update 6 lowered it to 10%. Recipe: Sigma Boy (Godly) + Mythic + Orcalero (Godly) + Epic. |
| Alien | 22x | UFO Event (10%) · 5% Index | Weather Machine event mutation from the UFO Event. Update 7 clocks Alien at a 5% hatch rate via the Game Index. |
| Bacon | 30x | Bacon Event (6%) | A-Tier visual variant (Update 7) — spawns classic Roblox Bacon Hair onto Brainrots. Weather Machine Bacon Event (6%); recipe: Celestial + Hacked + Common + OG. Example: Bacon Guiro Digitale ~16M/s scaled. |
| Phantom | 25x | Phantom Event (3%) | Elite event variant (Update 7 scaling). Baseline yields from 19M up to 280T upon max base enhancement. Launched at 35x; lowered to 25x in Update 6. Sacrifice 4× Celestial Brainrots for a 10-minute Phantom Event window. |
| Volcanic | 35x | Volcano Event (unlock first) | Update 5 event mutation at 35x. Unlock for 20 lava rocks at the shard upgrade area, then roll Volcanic Lucky Blocks during the 10-minute eruption cycle. Players can vote for Volcano during Update 7 server voting. |
| Heavenly | 32x | Heavenly Event (3%) | Update 7 weather variant from server voting during Admin Abuse. Players vote between Volcano and Heavenly events; 3% conversion rate on exclusive mutated Lucky Blocks during the window. |
| Block Cup | 38x | Lucky Cup blocks (Block Cup Shop) | Update 8 event mutation — highest event-tier multiplier at launch. Rolls on six Lucky Cup block brainrots in the Block Cup Shop: Castlino Fortini, Bambu Sahur, Bottellini, Beluga Beluga, Astro Tim, and Smelloni Papayoni. |
| Undead | 35x | Zombie Apocalypse Event (4%) | Update 9 event mutation from the Zombie Apocalypse weather window — 4% Undead lucky block chance. Sits between Phantom (25x) and Heavenly (32x) on raw multiplier; strong on high-base Celestial pulls (e.g. Tralaledon ~$21.8M/s scaled). |
For event and zone-specific mutations, see our Block Cup guide (Update 8 Block Cup & Carnival), Update 7 guide (Eternal Plus, Astral meta & Heavenly Event), Update 4 Eternal guide (Astral & Phantom) and Update 5 Volcano guide (Volcanic). Current Weather recipes: Update 6 guide.
Maximizing Mutation Chances
Relying on "Blind Kicking" alone rarely yields mutations above Radioactive. High-level players combine the following systems to increase efficiency:
Luck Stacking
- Multiplicative Scaling: Luck is not additive. The final calculation is:Final Luck = (Base Luck + Gamepass) × Server Multiplier × Potion
- Server Luck Boosts: Attempt pulls during 2x, 4x, 8x, or up to 16x Server Luck events (Update 7 shop cap) for the best chance at Plasma tier and above.
- Distance Buff: Entering the OG Area provides a built-in luck boost often exceeding 900x. This is the optimal time to use personal potions. If you need the full formula and event timing, use the Luck Guide.
Power & Precision
- Perfect Kick: Precision timing increases distance and provides a slight "quality bias" at the moment of impact.
- Zone Strategy:
- Early Game: Target Gold or Diamond mutations for initial capital.
- End Game: Top mutations like Rainbow need extreme distance and luck, so improving kick distance control is mandatory.
Survival & Risk Management
Top-tier units spawn at extreme distances, presenting a high retrieval risk:
Tsunami & Visual ID
Higher mutations often trigger more aggressive waves (e.g., Admin Wave).
- Visual Quick-Check: If you see obvious high-tier VFX (e.g. neon smoke for Radioactive, prismatic trails for Rainbow), sprint regardless of the risk. If it's a low-tier glow and the wave is close, abandon it.
- Stat Requirement: Impossible Waves in the Hacked Zone require a Movement Speed of 85+ for a reliable escape.
Regional Layout Strategies
As a player progresses, the base layout should evolve to maximize ROI (Return on Investment):
1. Early Zones (Rare - Epic)
- Goal: Pure Quantity.
- Strategy: Fill your base with any unit you can retrieve.
- Layout: Replace non-mutated units with Gold or Diamond tiers as soon as they drop.
2. Mid-Tier Zones (Legendary - Mythic)
- Goal: Multiplier Hunting.
- Strategy: Mutations begin to outclass the base values of higher zones.
- Layout: Prioritize any unit with a 4x (Plasma) multiplier or higher. An 8x (Radioactive) unit from a lower zone is often better than a standard unit from your current zone.
3. Advanced Zones (Divine - Hacked)
- Goal: Balancing Survival and Power.
- Strategy: Focus on "Anchor" units with high multipliers.
- Layout: Keep your best Molten (6x) or Radioactive (8x) units in core slots. Only replace a strong Radioactive pull if you find a clearly better multiplier in-zone.
4. End-Game (OG Area)
- Goal: The "Dragon" Meta.
- Strategy: Exponential growth using a mix of high-base units and percentage buffs.
- Layout: 60% Slots: your highest multipliers from the OG Area (Rainbow, Electrified, Radioactive, etc.).
- Layout: 40% Slots: Dragon units (the % bonus multiplies the massive output of your mutated OG units).
FAQ
Q1: Can I "reroll" a unit to get a mutation later?
No. Mutations only generate at the moment of impact. While limited-time "Reroll" events occasionally occur, there is currently no permanent way to add a mutation to an existing unit.
Q2: Why did I get a "None" mutation in the OG Area?
Zones determine the loot pool and Luck floor, but mutations are still RNG-based. High luck significantly increases the chance, but does not guarantee a mutation.
Q3: Does the multiplier affect Rebirth points?
No. Multipliers only affect Cash production. Rebirth points are usually calculated based on your total net worth or highest kick distance.
Q4: Will I keep the unit if the Tsunami kills me?
No. If you die before reaching the shore, the unit is lost forever unless you spend Robux for an "Instant Revive."
Q5: Is Radioactive the same across all zones?
The multiplier (8x) is the same, but the base value is not. A Radioactive unit from the Hacked Zone is worth significantly more than one from the Rare Zone.
Q6: What graphics settings are recommended?
Set Graphics Quality to 5+ to ensure particle effects (like Radioactive smoke) are visible from a distance, allowing for faster decision-making.
Q7: How do I get Astral, Phantom, Heavenly, or Volcanic mutations?
Astral drops in the Eternal and Eternal Plus zones (Update 7). Phantom requires the Phantom Event (3%, 25x after Update 6). Heavenly comes from the Update 7 server-voted Heavenly Event (3%). Volcanic requires unlocking at the shard upgrade area (20 lava rocks) during Update 5 volcano cycles (35x).
Q8: Is Virus still obtainable after Update 3?
The Weather Machine replaced the Virus Machine. Treat Virus as a legacy trait on older units; farm current meta mutations via zone luck, Weather events (see Update 6 for current recipes), Eternal/Phantom content, or the Volcano Event.
Q9: How many mutations are in Kick a Lucky Block?
There are 9 regular mutations (Gold through Astral) rolled via zone luck, plus 11 event mutations (Virus through Undead) from Weather Machine, legacy systems, or special events. Update 9 adds Undead (35x); Update 8 added Block Cup (38x).
Q10: What is the highest mutation multiplier?
Astral at 50x is the highest regular mutation and the #1 active meta after Update 7, followed by Rainbow at 40x. Among event mutations, Block Cup leads at 38x (Update 8 Lucky Cup blocks), then Undead and Volcanic at 35x, Heavenly at 32x, Bacon at 30x, and Phantom at 25x after the Update 6 nerf.
Q11: How do I get the Block Cup mutation?
The Block Cup mutation (38x) rolls on six Lucky Cup block brainrots sold in the Block Cup Shop: Castlino Fortini, Bambu Sahur, Bottellini, Beluga Beluga, Astro Tim, and Smelloni Papayoni. Earn goals currency from Block Cup matches to buy blocks and upgrades. See the Block Cup guide for full shop prices and farming routes.
Q12: How many mutations did Update 8 add?
Update 8 (Jun 13, 2026) added the Block Cup mutation (38x) and the Carnival Weather Machine event option (3% Carnival lucky block chance). Update 9 (Jun 27, 2026) added Undead (35x) via the Zombie Apocalypse event.
Q13: How do I get the Undead mutation?
Farm the Zombie Apocalypse event during Block Cup Part 2 (Update 9). Undead lucky blocks have a reported 4% chance during the window — stack server luck and kick into Eternal Plus or Abyssal zones for high-base brainrots before rolling. See the Block Cup guide for Battle Pass quest routes that overlap the event season.
