Anime Expeditions Traits Guide

Every Anime Expeditions trait with drop rates and pity — chase rolls for carries, economy traits for income units, and when to stop burning Trait Crystals.

By Bloxron Editorial Team · Last updated

Traits are passive bonuses rolled onto units — damage, crit, range, income, or EXP. You reroll them with Trait Crystals at the stand between Crafting and Evolving in the hub.

Do not burn crystals on placeholders. Once a unit has a set slot on your team, chase traits that match its job: Unbound and Primordial for carries, Investor for economy, Precision or Bolt as solid mid-tier bridge rolls.

Strength, Speed, and Range tiers are fine bridge rolls. Keep them if crystals are low and the unit still pulls its weight.

Mythic trait pity

Chase traits track pity on rerolls. When the counter hits the threshold, that roll replaces the normal odds check with the pitied trait. Common traits do not share this track.

TraitPityNotes
UnboundUnbound1,500 rerollsMythic pity — guaranteed on the roll that hits the counter.
PrimordialPrimordial750 rerollsMythic pity threshold for the all-round damage roll.
ForsakenForsaken500 rerollsCrit-focused pity — strong on precision kits.
DraconicDraconic300 rerollsLowest mythic pity — DOT and cost-cut roll.

Where traits and crystals come from

  • Trait CrystalsOne crystal per reroll at the Trait Reroll machine
  • SummoningRoughly 0.75% chance a unit arrives with a trait already applied
  • Story / challenges / raidsFree crystals from progression, daily resets, and raid shop
  • Codes & eventsBonus crystals when active — check before big reroll sessions

Stat rerolls vs traits

  • Stat rerolls change a unit's stat potential lines — separate from traits.
  • Evolution raises every stat one tier from your current potential, so reroll stats before evolving when you can.
  • Stat Lock protects one line while you reroll the rest — same idea as Equipment Lock on gear.

When each trait fits

DraconicDraconicBurn and DOT unitsYou missed rarer rolls but still want a strong offensive boostYou are forcing it onto economy or pure support.

Precision / Bolt / OpticsMid-tier bridge carriesCrystals are low and the roll already fits the roleYou are rerolling a unit you plan to replace soon.

How to reroll traits

  1. Head to the Trait Reroll stand in the hub — between Crafting and Evolving.
  2. Pick the unit you already know is staying in your lineup.
  3. Each reroll costs one Trait Crystal and replaces the current trait entirely.
  4. Roll until the trait matches the job (damage, crit, income, or bridge stats).
  5. Stop at good enough and put the crystals you saved into evolution or gear.

When to stop rerolling

  • Keep the roll if it matches the unit's job and your next goal.
  • Stop if crystals are low and the rest of the roster still needs work.

FAQ

Should I reroll traits early?

Only after you know a unit is staying in your real lineup. Early crystals disappear fast and are easy to waste on placeholders.

What is the best trait in Anime Expeditions?

Unbound is the top offensive roll at 0.1% with a 1,500-roll pity. Primordial and Forsaken are the next chase options. The real question is whether the unit deserves that investment.

How does trait pity work?

Rare traits track pity separately — Draconic at 300, Forsaken at 500, Primordial at 750, and Unbound at 1,500. Common rolls like Strength or Speed do not use the pity track.

What about income traits?

They still matter, but only on units whose job is to support economy. A money trait on your main carry is usually a bad trade.
