Overview

Every weapon in Broken Blade is unlocked and upgraded through crafting — not picked up as random loot. You find locked weapons in the world, spend weapon pieces and boss materials to activate them, then forge element materials onto the finished blade. How far a weapon goes depends more on what you invest than which one you start with.

How to Upgrade a Weapon

  1. Discovery — find the locked weapon object in the world
  2. Unlock — pay currency plus the matching weapon pieces (Sword, Katana, or Buster)
  3. Craft — spend boss materials to activate the base form
  4. Forging — spend boss materials to finish the weapon form
  5. Enhancement — late-game upgrades for extra power

Material names are on the materials guide; drop sources on the bosses guide. Match your weapon to a race (Elf / Vanir / Nether) on the races guide.

FAQ

How does weapon progression work in Broken Blade?

Find a locked weapon in the world, spend currency and weapon pieces to unlock it, then craft and forge it with boss and element materials. Late-game enhancement adds more scaling on top.

Which weapon type should I choose?

Sword — steady damage and flexible combos. Katana — fast attacks and crit scaling. Buster — slow swings but high burst for bosses. Pick based on how you want to fight, not raw stat numbers.

Where do Elements fit in?

Elements are passive buffs rolled with Element Rerolls at level 500. They stack on your character, not on the weapon itself. See the Elements and Bosses guides for tier picks and Velik farming.

What does Dragon Slayer need?

Dragon Slayer is a ★★★★ Buster weapon. Expect heavy Buster piece farming, Sacrifice Piece drops, a large element material investment, and a high currency cost before it is fully upgraded.
