Overview

Races are passive character bonuses rolled with Race Reroll items at level 500. They stack with your Elements, Blessings, and weapon upgrades. Nine races span Common through Mythical — only a handful are worth keeping at endgame.

  • Best overall — Aesir (Mythical, ~0.0317% roll)
  • Sword — Elf (+75% DMG, +25% Sword DMG)
  • Katana — Vanir (+75% DMG, +25% Katana DMG, easiest legendary at 3.17%)

S Tier — keep these

Aesir (Mythical) — Only mythical race. Four offensive stats at once — the universal endgame pick for any weapon.

Elf (Legendary) — Sword specialist with the same +75% base as Aesir on sword swings. Best race if you main Sword.

Vanir (Legendary) — Katana specialist. Highest legendary roll rate of the weapon trio — strong burst on single targets.

Nether (Legendary) — Buster specialist. Mandatory for dedicated Buster lines where +25% weapon damage compounds with blessings.

A Tier — good mid-game stops

Flame (Epic) — Balanced epic — half the damage of S-tier races but a large health pool for learning bosses.

Frost (Epic) — Tank-leaning epic. Same +50% damage as Flame with damage reduction instead of raw HP.

B Tier — replace when you can

Giant (Rare) — Defensive rare with sustain but zero direct damage. Fine for early farms, replace once rerolls stack up.

Dwarves (Uncommon) — Health-only uncommon. Helps new players survive, but offers no offense as enemies scale.

C Tier — reroll away

Human (Common) — Default starting race. Smallest bonus in the pool — reroll at the first opportunity after Lv.500.

Weapon Pairings

Legendary races add +25% damage to one weapon line on top of +75% base damage. Match your race to the weapon you actually forge and upgrade.

Weapon styleRaceWhy
SwordElf or AesirElf adds +25% Sword DMG; Aesir wins if you want crit scaling on any weapon
KatanaVanir or AesirVanir is the katana specialist; Vanir also rolls more often than Elf/Nether
BusterNether or AesirNether stacks with Buster blessings like Odin and Thor
Any (endgame)AesirCrit chance, crit damage, and attack speed with no weapon lock-in

See the weapons guide for Sword, Katana, and Buster progression paths.

How to Get Race Rerolls

  1. Reach level 500 — rerolls cannot be used before this
  2. Farm Nivaron — best Race Reroll drops (see bosses guide)
  3. Stock rerolls before rolling — commons dominate the pool (~47.6% Human)
  4. Trade with other players or farm mobs and codes if you skip the grind

Estimate Aesir or legendary roll odds in the calculator.

Open inventory → double-click Race Reroll → confirm. Stop on Flame, Frost, or a weapon-matching legendary while chasing Aesir.

Race Reroll items are listed under utility materials on the materials guide.

FAQ

What is the best Race in Broken Blade?

Aesir (+75% DMG, +10% Crit Chance, +100% Crit DMG, +5% ATK Speed) is the top race for any weapon. If you commit to one weapon line, Elf (Sword), Vanir (Katana), or Nether (Buster) match Aesir on that style.

What level do you need for Race Rerolls?

Level 500. Race Reroll items can sit in your inventory before that, but you cannot use them until you hit the requirement.

Where do Race Rerolls drop?

Nivaron is the main boss farm. You can also get rerolls from other bosses, mobs, codes, or player trades.

How many Races are there?

Nine races across six rarities — one Common, one Uncommon, one Rare, two Epic, three Legendary, and one Mythical.

Which Race matches each weapon type?

Elf boosts Sword damage (+25%), Vanir boosts Katana (+25%), and Nether boosts Buster (+25%). All three share +75% base damage on top.
