Broken Blade Elements Tier List
All Elements — combat rerolls ranked S through C, plus Space forge element for Yamato.
By Bloxron Editorial Team · Last updated
Overview
Broken Blade has seven elements in two categories. Combat elements (Fire, Thunder, Wind, Life, Earth, Water) are passive bonuses from Element Rerolls at level 500 and stack on your character. Forge elements (Space) attach during weapon crafting — Space is required for the 5-Star Yamato katana.
Combat elements stack with races and blessings. Forge elements are covered on the weapons guide and Yamato guide.

Quick Picks
- General DPS — Fire (+50% DMG)
- Crit / boss burst — Thunder (+50% Crit DMG)
- Combo speed — Wind (+15% ATK Speed)
- Farm sustain — Life (+3% Life Steal)
- Yamato craft — Space (forge element from Midgard Island)
S Tier — top picks
Combat elements only — forge elements are not tier-ranked.
Fire — Flat damage boost that scales with every weapon upgrade. Strongest general-purpose pick for farming and bosses.
Thunder — Doubles critical hit damage. Best when you already have crit chance from race, blessing, or gear.
A Tier — strong alternatives
Combat elements only — forge elements are not tier-ranked.
Wind — More hits per second and faster combos. Raises DPS through frequency, not bigger individual hits.
Life — Heals a slice of damage dealt. Helps long farms and messy boss fights where you cannot dodge everything.
B Tier — situational
Combat elements only — forge elements are not tier-ranked.
Earth — Cuts incoming damage by a tenth. Useful while leveling, but offers no direct offense.
C Tier — reroll away
Combat elements only — forge elements are not tier-ranked.
Water — Slow energy refill. The smallest combat impact of the six — reroll unless you have no other option.
Space (Forge Element)
Forge element introduced with the Reforge the Yamato update. Required for Yamato and the strongest space-themed weapon crafts.
- Source: Space Shop on Midgard Island (Holy) or Space Invader drops
- Best for: Yamato katana craft, late-game Katana progression
Full craft steps are in the Yamato guide. Red Orb farming is on the bosses guide.
Fire vs Thunder
Both sit at the top of combat elements, but they scale differently. Fire adds raw damage on every hit — no setup required. Thunder only pays off when you are already landing crits; pair it with crit chance from your race or blessing, or run a Katana that crits often.
Thunder is rarer on reroll (~3.6% vs Fire at ~8.8%), so expect more rolls before you see it.
Element Stacking
Rolling a new combat element does not remove your current ones — it adds to the stack. Buffs from each stacked element apply together. Forge elements like Space do not stack this way; they are consumed or attached during weapon crafting.
In auto-roll settings, many players stop at Legendary rarity to cap at five combat elements, or Mythical to aim for six. Plan your reroll budget before burning through items.
How to Get Element Rerolls
You need level 500 to use an Element Reroll for combat elements. Farm bosses and mobs across islands, or trade with other players.
Velik and Ragaros are the top farms. Model farm time and Fire vs Thunder odds in the calculator. Full boss tables are on the bosses guide.
Build Pairings
| Goal | Element | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Fastest clears | Fire | +50% DMG on every hit, any weapon type |
| Boss melting | Thunder | +50% Crit DMG when crits are frequent |
| Katana combos | Wind | +15% ATK Speed for more hits per second |
| Solo farming | Life | +3% Life Steal reduces downtime between fights |
| Learning bosses | Earth | +10% DMG Reduction while you are still gearing |
| Yamato craft | Space | Required forge element — best synergy with Yamato |
Match combat elements to your weapon line — Thunder on a slow Sword without crit chance underperforms Fire on the same setup.
FAQ
What is the best Element in Broken Blade?
Fire (+50% DMG) is the safest all-round combat pick. Thunder (+50% Crit DMG) wins on burst if your build already stacks crit chance. For Yamato crafting, Space is the required forge element.
How do you get Element Rerolls?
Velik and Ragaros are the best boss farms. Magador and Moraros work earlier. See the bosses guide for exact drop rates.
What level do you need to reroll Elements?
Level 500. Below that, Element Reroll items sit in your inventory unused. Forge elements like Space are obtained separately — not through rerolls.
Do Elements stack?
Combat elements stack when you reroll at level 500 — each roll adds to your stack. Forge elements like Space attach during weapon crafting instead.
How many Elements are in Broken Blade?
Seven total — six combat elements from Element Rerolls (Earth, Water, Life, Wind, Fire, Thunder) plus Space, a weapon forge element for Yamato.
How do you get the Space element?
Buy Space from the Space Shop on Midgard Island with Holy currency, or farm it as a drop from Space Invaders. It is required before you can craft Yamato.
