Overview

Elements are passive combat bonuses rolled separately from your weapon. Six options exist — Fire, Thunder, Wind, Life, Earth, and Water — each with a fixed buff and rarity tier. Spend an Element Reroll at level 500 to add another Element to your stack.

Elements stack with races and blessings. Weapon forge materials are a separate system on the materials guide.

All Elements

Six elements, six rarities. Roll weights below are per-element chances inside the reroll pool — not a single 100% split.

Quick Picks

  • General DPS — Fire (+50% DMG)
  • Crit / boss burst — Thunder (+50% Crit DMG)
  • Combo speed — Wind (+15% ATK Speed)
  • Farm sustain — Life (+3% Life Steal)

S Tier — top picks

FireFlat damage boost that scales with every weapon upgrade. Strongest general-purpose pick for farming and bosses.

ThunderDoubles critical hit damage. Best when you already have crit chance from race, blessing, or gear.

A Tier — strong alternatives

WindMore hits per second and faster combos. Raises DPS through frequency, not bigger individual hits.

LifeHeals a slice of damage dealt. Helps long farms and messy boss fights where you cannot dodge everything.

B Tier — situational

EarthCuts incoming damage by a tenth. Useful while leveling, but offers no direct offense.

C Tier — reroll away

WaterSlow energy refill. The smallest combat impact of the six — reroll unless you have no other option.

Fire vs Thunder

Both sit at the top, but they scale differently. Fire adds raw damage on every hit — no setup required. Thunder only pays off when you are already landing crits; pair it with crit chance from your race or blessing, or run a Katana that crits often.

Thunder is rarer on reroll (~3.6% vs Fire at ~8.8%), so expect more rolls before you see it.

Element Stacking

Rolling a new Element does not remove your current ones — it adds to the stack. Buffs from each stacked Element apply together.

In auto-roll settings, many players stop at Legendary rarity to cap at five Elements, or Mythical to aim for six. Plan your reroll budget before burning through items.

How to Get Element Rerolls

You need level 500 to use an Element Reroll. Farm bosses and mobs across islands, or trade with other players.

Velik and Ragaros are the top farms. Model farm time and Fire vs Thunder odds in the calculator. Full boss tables are on the bosses guide.

Match your Element to your weapon line — Thunder on a slow Sword without crit chance underperforms Fire on the same setup.

FAQ

What is the best Element in Broken Blade?

Fire (+50% DMG) is the safest all-round pick. Thunder (+50% Crit DMG) wins on burst if your build already stacks crit chance — common on Katana setups and crit-focused races.

How do you get Element Rerolls?

Velik and Ragaros are the best boss farms. Magador and Moraros work earlier. See the bosses guide for exact drop rates.

What level do you need to reroll Elements?

Level 500. Below that, Element Reroll items sit in your inventory unused.

Do Elements stack?

Yes. A new roll adds another Element to your stack instead of replacing the old one. Many players set auto-roll to stop at Legendary (five stacks) or Mythical (six stacks).

How many Elements are in Broken Blade?

Six — Earth, Water, Life, Wind, Fire, and Thunder — each tied to one rarity from Common through Mythical.
