First loop: click, drain, grab a fish, sell or stock the tank, then buy one upgrade that fixes what slowed you down.

First session: raise water per second, empty the starter pool, grab the fish that spawn, sell or stock them, then buy one pump that makes the next drain faster.
The top-of-screen number is drain water per second (how fast pools empty). Clicking raises that number and your level. Rebirth uses level later. For now, treat water per second as the score that matters.
When the starter pool feels slow, check upgrades for pump priority. Stage gates and rebirth levels are on progression.
Mistakes to skip
- Pasting codes from +1 Power Per Click or Drain the Lake
- Buying aura before your first real pump jump
- Walking into a gated area before your power matches the UI
- Letting your backpack fill while rare fish respawn in the pool
- Rebirthing before you have a real pump and some aquarium income
Your first drain loop
- Click near the pool. Each click adds +1 WATER and raises your drain rate. Keep clicking until the water level starts dropping.
- Drain the pool completely. Stand in the water and let the drain finish. The pool empties all at once. You do not leave water behind.
- Pick up the fish. Walk up to spawned fish the same way you pick fruit. Early catches often sell for $10 or $100. Take the higher payout if your bag has room.
- Sell or put fish. Sell at the Fisherman, or go home and use Put fish for passive cash. Equip best keeps your strongest earners in the tank. Early sells often land around a few hundred dollars total.
- Buy your first pump upgrade. Open the pump shop and read the card. Aim for Sunflower Backpack around $3,000 (about 45 water per click). Skip aura until after that jump.
- Claim daily water if it is up. Daily rewards can add about +300 water when the prompt shows, and sometimes cosmetics like an Aurora aquarium skin. Claim it so the next drain starts faster.
- Join the group for auto-click. Joining the creator group unlocks auto-click. Useful once you already understand the manual loop.
- Watch your backpack. When the bag is full, new fish can disappear. Return to the green home zone to stock the aquarium or buy a backpack slot.
Early goals for the first hour
| Goal | How |
|---|---|
| First real pump | Sell starter fish until you can afford Sunflower (~$3,000). |
| First aquarium Collect | Put fish, Equip best, then Collect when cash builds (early Collect can land in the thousands). |
| Touch the next gate | When water per second feels stuck, check progression for the 1.5K and 8K gates instead of wandering deep. |
| First rebirth window | Level climbs with clicks. First rebirth shows around level 35 to 50. Do not force it before your first pump. |
Sell now or stock the tank?
| Phase | Sell | Stock tank |
|---|---|---|
| First 10 minutes | You need cash for Sunflower. Sell weak $10 to $100 fish. | Skip unless you want to test aquarium Collect once. |
| After first pump | Still fine for the next pump steps. | Start putting higher $/min fish in the tank for passive income. |
| Bag often full | Sell junk so slots free up. | Prioritize aquarium and a backpack slot so good fish do not despawn. |
FAQ
What does water per second mean?
It is your drain speed. Clicking raises it. Higher drain rate clears bigger pools and opens deeper gates faster.
Can I only collect part of a pool?
No. When you drain a pool, it empties fully. Fish spawn after it is dry.
What does Put fish mean?
It adds a caught fish to your home aquarium. Equipped fish generate passive cash over time.
When should I leave the starter area?
When your power matches the next gate on the map and you are not struggling to clear pools. See the progression guide for stage numbers.
When should I rebirth the first time?
After you have a real pump and some fish income. The UI opens around level 35 to 50. Cash is kept across rebirth.
