How to use items

Buy at the center shop, target one ant, read the jelly timer or mutation EFF.

  1. Buy at the Items shop. Open the Items shop near map center. Purchase a jelly or potion you can afford.
  2. Target the ant, not the floor. Jellies and potions apply to a chosen ant. Do not try to plant them like food crates.
  3. Read the result. Speed Jellies raise movement for a timer. Mutation Potions set a lasting EFF multiplier until removed or replaced.

Item spend priority

Boards and hole levels first, cheap jellies for routes, strong potions on keepers, Removal before upgrades.

  1. Finish colony boards first. Egg luck, Egg rolls, Food value, doors, and hole levels beat early potion spends.
  2. Use cheap jellies for long routes. Normal Speed Jelly helps when ants waste time walking. Buy it after colony boards if routes stay slow.
  3. Save strong potions for keepers. Leaf through Starlight potions should hit ants you plan to keep in doors, not temporary Commons.
  4. Use Removal before a better mutation. Mutation Removal Potion clears the current mutation so you can apply a stronger one.

FAQ

How many items are in the shop?

Eleven: four Speed Jellies and seven Mutation Potions, including Mutation Removal.

How do I apply Speed Jelly?

Buy it, then use it on a specific ant. The jelly does not drop on the ground as a food item.

Do potions stack forever?

Mutation Potions stay until you remove or replace them. Speed Jellies expire when their timer ends.

Should I buy Starlight early?

No. It costs $5.1Qi. Build colony income and keep Starlight for a top producer later.

Are items required to progress?

No. The free colony loop works without them. Items speed strong ants after colony boards are funded.
