Sell Lemons Evolution (Rebirth) Guide
In-game Evolution explained: Joe the Alien, when to evolve at 200%/350% investor bonus, the 10× yield rule, what survives reset, and post-evolution rebuild steps.
By Bloxron Editorial Team · Last updated
In-game this mechanic is called Evolution. This wiki also calls that same reset rebirth — do not confuse it with Void Evolution (Purple Portal) or Ascension (space staircase).
Three prestige layers
| Layer | Frequency | Main gain | Economic scale |
|---|---|---|---|
| Evolution (rebirth) | Every few hours | Alien Investor % stacks forever | Trillions–sextillions |
| Void evolution | Mid/late game | 42× income speed (multiplies) | Post–500Q investors |
| Ascension | Rare | +7.77× cash (with +3.33× prices) | Centillions (Lemon X) |
When aliens show up
Evolution is not available from the start. Once you earn $77 Sextillion in that run, the sky turns purple, a UFO beams you up, and Joe the Alien offers to invest in your business.
Joe the Alien & how to rebirth
After the UFO event, Joe the Alien stays on your plot — directly behind the Lemon Stand and to the right of Lemon Dash. The Void Portal sits in the same area once you reach late-game investor counts.
Two ways to open the menu
- Walk up to Joe and interact with him on the base
- Click the Alien icon on the right side of the HUD — same Alien Investors panel
The panel shows how many investors you already hold and how many this rebirth would add. Pressing Rebirth opens a confirmation screen; nothing resets until you confirm.
Alien Investors
How the bonus works
- Each investor gives +1% cash forever on all future runs (base rate)
- The UFO Key permanently doubles that to +2% per investor on free-to-play accounts
- Robux Investor Bonus gamepasses can stack the per-investor rate much higher — up to +32% per investor at max stacks
- Your first Evolution is the most important timing decision — evolving too early wastes hours rebuilding for little gain
How many investors you get
Each rebirth converts your run's total wealth into a batch of new investors added to your permanent pool. The richer the run, the more investors you earn — but the same cash total yields fewer investors as your lifetime pool grows, so later rebirths need much higher run totals to feel worthwhile.
When to evolve (rebirth)
Use all three rules together — they measure different things and complement each other.
| Rule | Threshold | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum bonus | 200%+ pending investor bonus | Below 200%, rebuild time outweighs the income boost — do not evolve |
| Sweet spot | 350%+ pending investor bonus | Rebuild often drops under 15 minutes; ideal for your first Evolution |
| Yield check | 10× current investor count | Wait until this evolution would add at least 10× your existing investors — or until income has stopped growing much |
Also evolve when the next major tier (usually Labs or Robotics) would take an unreasonably long grind — you have likely maxed the current run.
In-game confirmation hints
The rebirth confirmation screen color-codes your pending gain — it mirrors the 10× rule above:
- Red (“not very much”): new investors would be fewer than you already hold — usually a bad rebirth
- Between 1× and 10×: acceptable only if you still meet the 200%+ bonus threshold and need the reset
- Green (“a lot” / “a whole lot”): roughly 10× or more new investors — ideal timing
After void evolution
Right after a void evolution, investor growth can spike dramatically — delay rebirth while the “Rebirth to get:” number is still climbing fast. Near void eligibility, investor gains slow even on a maxed base; settling for ~5× instead of 10× can be reasonable then.

Two ways to rebirth
Free vs paid rebirth
- Free rebirth: you keep the investors and cash bonus, but lose all buildings, cars, and skyscraper floors
- Paid rebirth (80–90 Robux): same investors, but you keep your skyscraper, automation, and vehicles
After Evolution: first-minute rebuild
Right after a 350%+ evolution, follow this route before touching anything else. Full upgrade priority lives on Income Sources.
- 0–10 seconds: buy Juicer and Lily Gumdrop on the Lemon Stand
- 10–30 seconds: if you have the Sewer Key, head to the manhole and use the shortcut gate (see sewer map)
- 30–90 seconds: harvest the Cosmic Vine — at high investor bonus the payout can restore most of your pre-reset income (see secrets guide)
- After that: resume the normal tier order — Dash, Depot, then skyscraper floors
