Sub-trait Rolls
0.1% Superior

Every unit carries one primary trait rolled at the Traits NPC in the Upgrade area using Trait Shards. Rare rolls can also attach a sub-trait — a secondary bonus on the same unit, not a second full trait slot. Traits are separate from stat rerolls and stack with gear bonuses. See S–D rankings on the tier list.

Roll traits before evolving a unit — evolving first can interfere with reroll progress on units you plan to keep. In-game trait cards label range as RNG; we write Range on this wiki for clarity.

S Tier Traits

Superior trait icon

Superior

S0.1% drop

Top roll — huge stat package plus +1 Spawn Cap. Only one Superior-traited unit can be on the field at a time.

  • +200% Damage
  • +300% Max HP
  • +30% Range
  • -15% Cooldown
  • +1 Spawn Cap

Constraints

  • Only one Superior-traited unit on the field at a time
Cloner trait icon

Cloner

S0.2% drop

Deploys two copies instead of one — strong on summoners and units that scale with field presence.

  • +40% Damage
  • +60% HP
  • Spawns 2 units instead of 1

A Tier Traits

Entrepreneur trait icon

Entrepreneur

A0.3% drop

Large cost reduction makes expensive units deploy earlier while still providing solid combat bonuses.

  • -40% Cost
  • +30% Damage
  • +30% HP
Rebirth trait icon

Rebirth

A0.4% drop

Extra life on hard stages and Infinite Mode plus strong offensive stats — great on frontline carries.

  • +35% Damage
  • +50% HP
  • +20% Range
  • Respawns with 50% HP upon dying once

B Tier Traits

Lethal trait icon

Lethal

B1.25% drop

Cooldown reduction directly boosts overall DPS — one of the best non-secret traits for damage dealers.

  • -10% Cooldown
  • +20% Damage
Sniper trait icon

Sniper

B1.25% drop

Huge range increase lets units attack sooner and stay active longer throughout a match.

  • +40% Range
  • +20% Damage
Wealthy trait icon

Wealthy

B1.25% drop

Helps expensive units hit the field faster — weaker than Entrepreneur but still valuable on high-cost slots.

  • +10% Damage
  • -20% Cost

C Tier Traits

Knight trait icon

Knight

C11.33% drop

Decent all-around trait for early and mid-game progression but overshadowed by higher-tier rolls.

  • +5% HP
  • +20% Damage
Juggernaut trait icon

Juggernaut

C1.25% drop

Strong survivability for tanks and frontline units — most DPS units prefer offensive bonuses.

  • +50% HP

D Tier Traits

Ranger trait icon

Ranger

D11.33% drop

Range increase is useful but lacks the damage or utility needed to compete with stronger traits.

  • +25% Range
Powerful trait icon

Powerful

D20% drop

Simple damage boost that works on any unit — the increase is too small for endgame builds.

  • +10% Damage
Tank trait icon

Tank

D11.33% drop

Useful only on dedicated tanks and offers little value for most team compositions.

  • +30% HP
Sight trait icon

Sight

D20% drop

Minor range increase — too small to noticeably impact performance; reroll when possible.

  • +10% Range
Endure trait icon

Endure

D20% drop

Smallest survivability boost in the game — generally worth rerolling immediately.

  • +10% HP

Squad assignment tips

  • Superior on your best DPS carry — only one Superior-traited unit on the field at a time.
  • Entrepreneur on a separate high Yen-cost powerhouse so it deploys earlier each wave.
  • Cloner + Rebirth — pair Cloner on summoners like Woo (Shadow) for double-casts; Rebirth on frontline tanks for a one-time revive safety net.
  • If Superior or Cloner lands, stop rerolling — traits have no lock (Perfect Cubes are for Stat Rerolls), so chasing a sub-trait risks losing the elite roll.

FAQ

How many traits can a unit hold?

One primary trait per unit, rolled at the Traits NPC with Trait Shards. Some rolls also attach a sub-trait — a secondary bonus on the same unit. You cannot equip two full primary traits on one unit.

Can you lock traits before rerolling?

No. Trait rerolls only spend Trait Shards, and there is no trait lock. Perfect Cubes belong to the Stat Reroll NPC (premium single-stat rolls) — do not confuse them with trait protection. If Superior or Cloner lands, keep it instead of chasing a better sub-trait.

What is the best trait in Anime Squadron?

Superior — +200% Damage, +300% Max HP, +30% Range, -15% Cooldown, and +1 Spawn Cap (0.1% roll). Only one Superior-traited unit can be on the field at a time.

When should you use Entrepreneur?

As the primary trait on high Yen-cost powerhouses. It grants -40% Cost, +30% Damage, and +30% HP so expensive units deploy earlier in each wave.

Which trait fits summoners?

Cloner spawns two copies of the unit (+40% Damage, +60% HP) — strong when each copy attacks independently.
