Sanity — how we play it
Abstraction is a meter race, not a quiz. Pick one drain and hold it while you watch the bottom-left Sanity bar — switching spots mid-drain usually wastes the run. Bright regroup zones and normal-player company reverse the drain; dark corners, private rooms, high ledges, and proximity to abstracted players push it down.
- Isolation: Isolate yourself from other players
- Darkness: Stay in the dark for a very long time
- Near an abstracted player: Hang out around abstracted people

Start from the symptom you see in-game.
- I want to abstract but nothing changes
Hold one condition. Private room, high ledge, dark corner, stare, or proximity all work — light and crowds stall the drain.
- I almost abstracted, then got killed
Proximity and stare drain Sanity fast but abstractions hit hard. Switch to the private-room or high-ledge route if you keep dying.
- I am abstracted but Caine does nothing
Check full abstraction on the ground floor, a second player nearby, chat spelling (Caine), and that nobody reset mid-event.
- I only want to explore safely
Start in bright social areas, stay with normal players, and keep distance from abstracted characters.

How do you abstract?
Hold one Sanity drain until the meter empties — do not hop between spots. Practical routes (private room, high ledge, dark corner, staring at an abstraction) and resist flips are on the How to Abstract guide; this FAQ is only the orientation.
How do you resist abstraction?
Flip the same three risks: stay with normal players, stay in bright spaces, and keep distance from abstracted players.
How do you get Caine and enter the Cellar?
Fully abstract, return to the ground-floor social area, then have a second player type Caine in chat nearby. Humans can also drop through hidden gaps. Retest after patches — the chain can shift.
Are Pomni, Jax, or other Digital Circus characters playable?
No. The game is inspired by The Amazing Digital Circus, but the live loop is normal players, abstracted players, and the Caine event NPC — not a cast picker for Pomni, Jax, Ragatha, or the rest.
Are there codes?
