The Demon path is gated by reputation and night time. Hit -40 reputation, find Muzan after dark, finish his Spider Lily quest, drink Muzan's Blood, then protect yourself from sunlight and roll a Blood Demon Art.

Muzan quest steps
Reach -40 reputation
Kill Slayers near Butterfly Estate or Mistfall Harbor for faster drops (about -9 each). Civilians are slower at about -1. Overshooting to about -45 is a safe buffer.
Find Muzan at night
He only appears after dark and rotates between Mistfall Harbor, Hidden Mist Village, and Iceveil Valley. These are search areas, not fixed spawn pins — walk the nearby paths. Waiting out the day on one server can beat endless hops.
Take the Biwa Bell and start the quest
Talk to Muzan with enough negative reputation. He gives the Biwa Bell, which teleports you into Muzan's Lair. Speak again in the lair to track Spider Lilies 0/9 and Deliver Dr. Higoshima 0/1.
Collect nine Spider Lilies
They glow at night near water and areas like Bamboo Grove. Walk into one to pick it up. Stay in a patch that already spawned lilies; they respawn in the same zones faster than a full map search.
Deliver Dr. Higoshima
Follow the red quest marker at night (current routes often point through Hidden Mist Village). Capture him, then carry him to the delivery point while Mizunoto slayers spawn. Keep moving; clearing every enemy slows you down and dying can wipe quest progress. Double Jump and Wall Climb help.
Drink Muzan's Blood
Finishing both objectives grants Muzan's Blood. Use it to transform. Confirm in Inventory → Archives → Titles that Demon is unlocked (+10 Max Health, 1.01x Evil Art Damage Factor, +5 Max Health passive).
Sun protection
Get the Black Amigasa early
Daylight burns demons without sun immunity. Speak to MoldySugar (pink-haired delivery NPC icon in the beginner village), deliver the package to Elara at Mistfall Harbor, and equip the Black Amigasa. Clothing shops in the starter village and Iceveil Valley can also stock sun-protection headgear — check effects before buying. Clans like Kamado grant sun immunity and remove the need for a hat.

Blood Demon Arts next
- Use the Biwa Bell to return to Muzan's Lair and roll a Blood Demon Art (also called Evil Arts in-game).
- Rolls cost about 3 spins each, payable with Spins or Ore.
- Orbs from bosses and chests (including luck chests) start a Core Training quest for that art.
- Example Core Training chain: barbell squats, Boulder Push, Boulder Split, kill Mizunoto enemies. Dying mid-quest can reset progress.
- Spend skill points and mastery in the art's Skill Tree. Some arts need fists; others need a specific weapon (Blood Manipulation / Blood Sickle needs a sickle that drops around Lv52).
- Demon Progress fills with souls from defeated human NPCs (Weak, Strong, Brave). Killing other demons gives nothing.
- Global skill cooldowns and the shared counter timer apply to every art (same rules as on the Breathing combat notes).

- Firstlight War Fans: best all-round Demon weapon — melee, range, and AoE. Counter only resets Z and grants its buff after a successful activation; shared counter cooldown rewards timing.
- Firstlight Bladed Wagasa: the other broad Demon endgame pick — strong stats, mobility, crowd clear, and Sun Immunity.
- Nightfall Sickles: clearest pairing with Blood Manipulation for mobility and ranged/AoE pressure.
- Nightfall Claws: excellent fast-pressure option despite shorter reach.
- Nightfall Scythe: competitive late-game stats and AoE, but slow enough to get blocked or dodged in PvP.
